Monday started early today, with a 6:30am bus ride from Belo Horizonte to Pocos de Caldas. Pocos has become a staple on my stops here in Brazil since so many great coffees are found in its radius. From the larger farms of Recreio, Cachoeira da Grama, Fazenda Rainha, to small family farms in Divinolandia, Serra do Salitre, Coopfam, Poco Fundo… the list goes on. Shining above me in Pocos right now is smaller version of Christ the Redeemer (compared to the famous one in Rio) and on the mountain and in the valley behind it are always some great natural and pulped natural coffees from a largely Italian immigrant population, including the Zanetti Family. We currently offer coffees from Acacio and Luiz Zanetti, and based on my cupping today will likely be bringing in some more this harvest.
