Sitio Serra da Careta is nestled in the Mantiqueira de Minas mountains, just outside of Baependi, Minas Gerais. Grower Samuel Mangia’s family has been in Baependi for generations, working in the stone business.
One of the stones they worked with was São Tomé stone, often used around pools since it does not retain heat or water. Their choice of São Tomé stone for a drying patio facilitates a “slow and low” drying; slow drying at lower temperatures.
The quality of the Mantiqueira de Minas terroir combined with the dedication of a passionate grower and a slow sun drying of the coffee produces an incredibly fruity, sweet, creamy and clean cup.
